Seattle’s Own Oberto Specialty Meats and The Heart Of Racing Look To Accelerate Giving To Seattle Children’s Heart Center in 2020

Oberto Specialty Meats has joined forces with The Heart of Racing team to give back to the research being done at the Seattle Children’s Heart Center. The Heart of Racing is a race team founded on the principle of raising money for the 501(c)(3) Seattle Children’s Hospital Guild, Team Seattle. Starting this weekend at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, Oberto will be raising money for Team Seattle with the #23 The Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3 and will continue to do this and drive pledges throughout the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Series. For both Oberto and Team Seattle, this is just an amplification of what has already been a long relationship with Seattle Children’s.

“While our day-to-day focus at Oberto is to produce delicious high-quality snacks, our mission is so much more. We pride ourselves on getting involved and serving our community,” said Tom Hernquist, CEO of Oberto. “We have a long ongoing relationship with both racing and Seattle Children’s. So, when we heard what Don & Donna Kitch and Team Seattle were doing for Seattle Children’s in partnership with The Heart of Racing, we had to get involved”.

Team Seattle, while not quite as established as its “new” 102-year-old partner Oberto, has been raising funds for Seattle Children’s since its inception in 1997. Merging together their love of auto racing with raising money for children, Don & Donna Kitch, with the team, have raised over $6 million for Seattle Children's. “Over the past 20 plus years, we’ve had tremendous success raising money for Seattle Children’s =Heart Center”, said Don Kitch. “This year, through the partnership with Oberto and their customer and consumer connections, we hope to accelerate awareness and money raised for this great cause.”

This weekend may be the first time Oberto’s logo will be featured on The Heart of Racing car, but it’s just the beginning of the partnership, as the two brands have embarked on a multi-pronged campaign that will feature new marketing content across Oberto’s social media channels. The campaign is specifically designed to drive donations to research being done at Seattle Children’s Heart Center to new levels and help save lives of children in the region.
